Privacy Policy

What we collect

• To sign you in: your phone number or email address, and one-time codes we send to it. We don't store passwords because there aren't any.
• When you post a listing: everything in the listing — role, salon name, address, pay, description, photos, and the phone numbers you give. Listings are public; that's their purpose.
• When you use the board: the listings you save and the ones you mark as interested in (tied to your account); which listings are opened (counted per listing, not per person, and shown only to the listing's owner).
• Your approximate location: so the board can start on your area, our network provider (Cloudflare) tells us the city your connection appears to be in. We never ask your browser for your precise position.
• Technical logs: our servers keep short-lived logs of requests (addresses, times, errors) to keep the service running and to spot abuse.

What we don't do

• We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers.
• We don't run third-party advertising or tracking pixels on nailgig.
• We don't read the contents of your device, contacts or messages.

Cookies and storage

One cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days; deleting it signs you out. Your browser's local storage remembers convenience settings — the last place you searched, the distance you chose. No cookies are used for advertising.

Who else handles your data

nailgig runs on services we pay for, which process data on our behalf under their own security commitments:

• Microsoft Azure hosts the site, the database and uploaded photos, and provides address search (Azure Maps) and the delivery of sign-in codes by email and SMS.
• Cloudflare sits in front of the site for security and provides the approximate-location feature described above.
• OpenStreetMap supplies the map images. Your browser requests them directly, so OpenStreetMap sees your IP address when you open the map, under their own privacy policy.

Phone numbers on listings

A salon's phone number is shown only when a visitor taps to reveal it, one listing at a time, and we limit how many numbers one visitor can reveal. This is to make bulk collection by bots harder. It is not a guarantee: anything published on a public listing may be seen by anyone.

Keeping and deleting

• Listings stay up until their owner removes them.
• Sign-in codes expire after 10 minutes. Sessions expire after 30 days.
• To delete your account and everything tied to it, email [email protected] from the address or phone you signed up with. We'll confirm and delete within 30 days.

Your choices

• You can browse and call without an account.
• You can decline the browser's location prompt; the board still works with a typed city or ZIP.
• You can edit or remove your listings at any time.
• You can ask what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it: [email protected].

Children

nailgig is for adults seeking or offering work. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and, for signed-in users, say so on the board.
